INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE

When you hire employees you are required by the IRS to keep certain information and fill out the appropriate IRS forms, including the I-9 which verifies that each employee is legally eligible to work in the United States. SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION

The Social Security Administration now has an online option for verifying Social Security Numbers. Once registered with this SSA online service you will be able to receive immediate verification of a social security number. You can register for this service by going to:

This is a FREE service offered by the Social Security Administration. Once you link onto the SSA site clicking on the "Frequently Asked Questions" section provides useful information regarding the e-verification service.
